Supergiant Games confirmed that Hades 2 — one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2025 — will make its console debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 14, 2026. The console versions will run at 120 frames per second on supported displays and launch with bonus content and quality-of-life improvements not previously available on PC early access or Nintendo Switch 2. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch, making it one of the most notable Game Pass additions of 2026.

The console port includes several features developed specifically for the platform launch. Push Square reported that the PS5 version takes advantage of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to convey the impact of Melinoe's weapon attacks and Ω (Omega) abilities, while the Xbox version supports the Xbox accessibility controller mapping suite. Both versions received new "Underworld Seasonal" challenge content and a new weapon not present in the current PC build, giving even players who completed the early access campaign a reason to return.

Kotaku noted that Hades 2 is skipping PS4 and Xbox One entirely, targeting only current-generation hardware — a decision Supergiant attributed to the 120fps performance target and the complexity of the new engine systems. The game received universal critical acclaim when it launched in early access on PC in 2025, with reviewers praising its expanded mythology, more complex build systems, and richer narrative compared to the original Hades. TechRadar called it one of the top games of 2025, noting the console release finally brings the experience to the largest gaming audiences who were previously locked out.
